We’re releasing some big updates next week. But before that, we’re taking this opportunity to quickly go through some of the enhancements and updates we’ve made to Monsha in the past couple of months!

Namely, the new Handout tool for creating student-facing materials, the ability to create new resources based on existing ones, images in follow-on prompts, image replacement controls, full course export to Canvas and Schoology, a personalized homepage, and a new subscription management portal for PRO users.

Explore the details below, and try these features in your Monsha account.

🚀 New tool: Handout

The new Handout tool helps you create ready-to-share, student-facing academic content that summarises everything students need to know about a topic or lesson.

You can start with any source – upload a file, paste a YouTube link, reference another Monsha resource, or simply type your topic. Monsha will turn it into a structured, printable handout that can be as short as one page or as detailed as ten.

And like all other Monsha tools, you can edit the handout, export it, or instantly generate follow-on materials such as worksheets, quizzes, or slides.

✨ Create new resources from existing ones

Say you’ve created a resource on Monsha, maybe a handout on World War 2. Then you asked it to make a shorter version, or to rewrite it from a German perspective.

Now, if you want to create more resources using what you’ve built so far, you’ve got two ways to do it.

You could type a follow-on prompt and ask Monsha to create the new resource. This works best when the new one is a small, related piece, like turning part of the handout into a short quiz, exit ticket, or summary.

Or, you could create a completely new Monsha resource based on your existing one. You can choose to base it on a specific output, such as one section of your handout, or the entire resource. That’s more useful when you want to make something different, like a presentation or worksheet, using the same context.

To create from a specific part, hover over the More button beside that output and click ‘Create more resource based on this output.’

To create from the entire resource, hover over the More button at the top and select ‘Create based on this.’

✨ Get images in follow-on responses after creating a resource

When you create a resource in Monsha and then type a follow-on prompt to refine or add more content, the follow-on responses can now include images too. Previously, they were text-only.

Now, Monsha can either find relevant images from the internet or generate new ones with AI, depending on what fits best. If you’d prefer one over the other, just mention it in your prompt. For example, “add AI-generated images” or “use real images from the web.”

✨ Controls on the image you’ve initially got

When you hover your mouse over any image generated by Monsha, you’ll see two icons: one to download the image, and another to replace it.

Clicking the replace icon gives you four options for swapping the image:

  1. AI Generate: Type a short prompt, get a new AI-generated image, and insert it right away.

  2. Search: Type your query to browse images from the internet, then pick one you like.

  3. Upload: Choose an image from your device to use as a replacement.

  4. Resource Image: Access all the images already in your resource, including the ones you’ve replaced or deleted earlier.

✨ Export entire course to your device, Canvas, and Schoology

As a quick refresher: you can use Monsha to create complete courses with units and lessons. You can map your long-range plan, align objectives and standards, and plan every lesson in detail: what you’ll teach, the resources you’ll use, and how you’ll deliver each part of the class.

Now with this update, you can download your entire course (including all units and lessons) as a PDF, Google Doc, or DOCX. You can also export it as a .imscc (Common Cartridge) file, which works seamlessly with major LMS platforms like Canvas and Schoology. Just upload the .imscc file to your LMS and get your full Monsha-generated course right inside your existing system – how cool is that!

For every export type, you can choose between a summary view or a detailed view, depending on what you need.

✨ App homepage is now personalized to you

We’ve redesigned the HOME page you see after logging in to Monsha. You can now instantly get back to the latest resources, courses, lessons, or units you were working on.

You can also access your most-used tools right from the homepage, including the teacher-favorite Anything tool that lets you create literally anything.

🚀 Subscription management portal

This one’s been a long time coming, especially for PRO users. You can now manage your PRO subscription directly from Monsha. Update your payment method, view billing history with invoices, or cancel your subscription without needing to contact support.

Go to Account Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription and it’ll take you to the subscription management portal.
